Explanations and Imprint of the Map
  1. Map data are based on the drilling data base of the Geology Survey Working Group of the Senate Department for the Environment, Transport and Climate Protection, with approx. 14,950 boreholes at a depth of 40 m and more, interpretation profiles obtained from geological sections, and groundwater level measurements from May 2017 and the depth to groundwater (potentiometric surface) derived from terrain altitude data.

  2. The individual definitions of rock to 10 rock classifications with associated specific thermal conductivity was then carried out.

  3. The mean specific thermal conductivity for the entire area of the bores and virtual nodes was calculated by weighted averaging the individual, stratum-related thermal conductivity for each selected depth.
    The bore-related and virtual node-related specific thermal conductivity was subsequently interpolated in order to generate the maps.
