The zoning map of the Land Use Plan delineates land for building purposes, community facilities, supply and disposal plants, transportation, open spaces, lakes and water courses and areas set aside for the protection of the environment. In addition the plan includes a number of written policies.

Furthermore, the zoning map includes additional information (based on other than planning legislation) affecting the use of land, such as nature conservation areas and contaminated soils.

The Land Use Plan is accompanied by an explanatory written statement, which has remained unaltered since 1994.
