Neighborhood Management
What Does it Cost?
From 1999 to 2011, 233.5 million Euros from various support programs had been spent in the neighborhood management areas. Funds allocated as follows: National government 43.5 million Euros, European Union 83.5 million Euros, and Land Berlin 106.5 million Euros, not included funding through "Programs for the Improvement of the Housing Environment".
The money had been spent mainly on the lasting revaluation of urban area and housing environment, for social and ethnical integration, and for the support of cooperation and organization among neighbors. Furthermore, young people, who had already been excluded from the education and labor markets, were provided with new chances of access to job training and gainful occupation.
