Cycling Strategy for Berlin

The cycling strategy is an integral part of the city’s overall transport development plan for sustainable mobility. It was first developed in 2004. Its implementation over the last years has contributed substantially to an increase in cycling activity. Today more than 1.5 million journeys are carried out by bicycle daily – and this figure is continuously rising. These developments and new challenges were reason enough to set up a new cycling strategy for Berlin which was adopted by the Senate of Berlin in March 2013.
