Berlin has a complex and efficient traffic system. No big city can function without one. A look behind the scenes reveals continuous and long-term planning based on the urban development plan (StEP) for traffic. The interplay of pedestrian and bicycle traffic, public transport and individual and commercial motorised traffic will be further optimised in order to preserve the quality of life in Berlin. Mobility also has a social component. It must be affordable for all. That is why we are improving pedestrian and bicycle traffic and our public transport system, promoting bicycle and car sharing and further developing electro-mobility.
