Information on data processing by the Geoportal Berlin (FIS Broker)

In the following, we will inform you about data processing related to the use of the Geoportal Berlin/FIS Broker (hereinafter referred to as the Geoportal).

In order to ensure the smooth running of the Geoportal, the IP address of your computer will be recorded automatically when you visit the Geoportal. This is to prevent the Geoportal's services being disrupted by automated mass inquiries sent by individual computers.

Independent from the Geoportal, the IP address of your computer will be recorded for the same purposes if you access any of our web services (WMS, WFS, CSW, ATOM) available through our geo-data infrastructure.

This data will not be passed on to third parties.

In general, we will store this data for an unlimited period of time.

As data subject you have the following rights:

  1. You have the right to obtain information from us as to what personal data we process about you for what purpose and to whom it has already been disclosed or transferred. This information also includes any recipient to whom the data will be disclosed in the future.

  2. You have the right to request the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you.

  3. You have the right to request the erasure of your personal data, e.g. if you withdraw your consent / the data is no longer required by us for the purpose stated above and there no longer is any legal ground for any further storage by us.

  4. Under certain circumstances, you have the right to request a restriction in the processing of your data; the data will then not be erased but will not be utilized further.

  5. You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data on grounds relating to your personal situation.

  6. If you are not satisfied with our data processing, you have the right to lodge a complaint both with the Data Protection Officer of the Senate Department for Urban Development and Housing and the supervisory authority responsible (Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information).

  7. You have the right to receive the personal data concerning you, which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
