Every resident of Berlin has their own favourite district, and each would rank as a city in its own right, with a full range of facilities and infrastructure.
Commerce, trades and services in Berlin
As well as being a cultural metropolis, Berlin is a creative city and a centre for new and progressive industries and services. As the capital of a united Germany it is also a meeting place of East and West. In its development, Berlin needs to mobilise dormant resources, such as the range of building sites that are unused or under-utilised. Most of these are already fully developed and ready for construction. They give Berlin a unique development opportunity in the competition with other major European cities.
