The metropolis of an empire, the city of the National Socialist regime, a divided city, the capital of a re-united country - Berlin's eventful history can be seen in its architecture. To the numerous layers an additional is now being added, and the survey "Construction and Redevelopment Since 1990" documents this last stratum: That of Berlin becoming the Nation's Capital. Arranged according to area and/or according to thematic emphasis, the survey documents the situation of Berlin architecture at the turn of the millennium, both where it picks up the threads of the past and where it transcends existing borders.
